How does Playmates do it?

Playmates is so sparatic in which characters they make figures of. I love TMNT figures, but it's so annoying to get random characters instead of the main characters.

Here's some examples:

They made "Butter-Fly Swords" who was a background character in one episode, but they didn't make "Darius Dun" who was practically the main villian in TMNT Fast Forward--a period of about twenty-four episodes.

They made "General Blaque" the commander of the Federalist space group, but none of his soldiers, and they made the Triceraton soldiers, but not their prime leader Zanramon. The Triceratons and Federalists are sworn enemies so this is extremely weird.

They made only one of the five Foot Mystics.


Well, anyway. I just think this is annoying--what about you?

Totally annoying! Do they do it that way to keep us in suspense about what's coming out next, you know so that way we're more likely to keep up with it instead of forgetting about them? I mean if they don't keep us wondering we would just buy the main characters and then stop? I'm just guessing.
Maybe they don't want a lot of figures who look similar. They want us to see how creative their toys are.
Don't they get it? We love the turtles so of course we want all of the important figures plus some, if not all of the less important ones too.

Yeah, it's annoying alright. I understand what you're saying. Sometimes, though, it seems like Playmates tries to cheat with their figures--like there are three sets of movie turtles that are nearly precisely the exact same molds.

And then they rarely give Mikey flexible nunchuckas, but if they do it's a rope, not a chain. Then they gave Monster Trapper Raph a realistic chain to connect his sais. They didn't even give Nightwatcher realistic chains.

I still like TMNT Toys, though. Sometimes I just wish they put forth more effort.

I think you're right. They are lazy and cheap.
You're right on about the nunchuckas and chain thing. They'll probably make turtles that really blink before they'll give Mikey realistic weaponry. At least they don't do too bad on his skateboard, ha ha.

Yeah, the whole thing with Mikey's nunchukas is so dumb. What's with them cheating on Mikey anyway? Everyone knows that he's the coolest and therefore deserves the coolest weapons!

Ok why don't they change the faces on any of the movie turtles?
Not like their faces aren't cool but after a while you get a little sick of them if you know what I mean. and they made a Viral figure but not a Darius Dun and he was in it as much if not more than her. It's just so annoying.

I know.I mean nobody goes around wearing the same stupid (or even cool) expression all of the time.

It's probably so they can add more detail and articulation. It's also probably to do with proportion. The Cartoon turtles are quite squat looking compared to the thin movie turtles. If the movie turtles were the same size asthe others they would look REALLY thin and really weak.

But that's just my opinion.
